The Game by Lee Pletzers

"Hey, Gamers. Looking for the ultimate in downloadable excitement? Nothing compares to this. No other game can deliver the thrill of this beast. Get the new VR headset and get ready for the game of your life. Heck, you only live once, live it well and play hard." Ronald G. Wright -- head of marketing.

Phillip McKenzie is a tormented and haunted man who spent 5 years to create a V.R. game that was suddenly taken over and controled by a living virus older than time, known simply as, The Wanderer. If she manages to escape the game world and enter our reality, Mankind will suffer like never before. Mankind will understand the real terror of a Digital Future.

Publisher description:

Divorcee, Phillip McKenzie has invented the most anticipated online game ever and millions of gamers wait on servers for connection.

Struggling with life with her recovering junkie mother, Phillip’s daughter Lisa uses virtual reality to lose herself. The arrival of free access to the game from her father, together with the visor needed to play, gives her another avenue for escape.

However something dark is lurking in the game, a living virus, and when Lisa's brother Timmy is pulled into the VR World, she must play to save him.

With time running out, Phillip battles to overcome the virus, while Lisa and a group of gamers fight to save Timmy’s life. But not all gamers want to play the good guy, and the living virus has its own allies...She's desperate to get out of the VR world and destroy the existence of Man for their betrayal many, many years ago.

You die in this game, you die for real.

*****************

Players hook onto the net, download the software, use a visor and away they go... but what if you were forced to play to save your little brother who was captured within the game world (no visor required) and what if you lost your visor while in the game world?

AND what if the oldest evil "The Wanderer" had control of the said world. What if she wants to get out into the real world? What if you were forced to play was just an act, and the truth was she had your father (the creator of the game) trapped inside also without a visor? What if only your father could find a way out but he doesn't want to help The Wanderer 'cause he knows she would turn the earth to darkness forever?

AND what if, she managed to actually get out?

And not to mention the other players on-line. Not everyone wants to play the part of a good-guy.
